Kayloa Marazzo

Bio:

My name is Kayla Marazzo and I originally grew up in Virginia, playing sports like volleyball, soccer, track and even did gymnastics for a time. I wasn’t super athletic when I was younger, but growing up I would watch my dad strength train (he was a bodybuilder in the past) and I instantly grew to love training and everything it involved. As a result of his past in bodybuilding and my aunt’s bodybuilding accomplishments, I knew I wanted to compete after college. I wound up competing in two figure competitions and loved them. My goal is to get back on stage this year at some point, because quite honestly, I love having a goal to work towards. I love the mental grit it takes to compete and to go through prep and I love pushing myself. With that said, being surrounded by and immersed in the fitness/nutrition space throughout my life really inspired me to work with others because I know how important nutrition, staying healthy and being strong is to our overall health. Our nutrition impacts SO many parts of our lives (and our bodies) and I want to be that person for others who may not have grown up with a positive influence in this regard. Plus it is literally so empowering to be strong- truly one of the best feelings.

I originally started Purely Balanced Nutrition as a way to ‘keep afloat’ during my internship. I knew I wouldn’t have enough time for an in-person job and wanted something that was MINE. 
I never really saw myself as a CEO or as someone owning her own business, BUT, after listening to a podcast where another RD talked about building her own business, I knew it could be done. (that and I knew I would thrive so much more doing my own thing).I have been in business now for 3 years teaching women (and some men too) to empower themselves & unlock their true potential through strength training, continuous improvement and good nutrition.

Niche:

I would say I really enjoy working with women who are passionate about their health and fitness goals and who are willing to work hard and get strong in the process. Especially as a woman, it is so empowering to be strong and lift heavy in the gym- there is truly nothing like it. I want everyone I work with to experience that feeling and to continue building momentum in their fitness journey as a result.

Experience: 

I have been personal training and coaching others since I was in college (2016ish era) as both an in person CPT and then an online coach in my own business, Purely Balanced Nutrition while I was in my dietetic internship. Now I am a Registered Dietitian and it’s truly a dream come true doing what I love everyday. 

​

Credentials:

I have my B.S. in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Science from James Madison University and my Certificate in Dietetics and Nutrition from Lipscomb University. 

I completed my 1200 hr. Dietetic internship shortly afterwards and have been a Registered Dietitian since December 2021. 🙂
