Bodybuilder and fitness coach Keegan Odell joins episode 297 of The Weight Room. He shares how he got into the world of fitness and bodybuilding through a long road of struggles. Though his young childhood began with sports, once he got injured, his life took another course. He overcame some rocky teenage years when he was finally introduced to the gym and began his new lifestyle. As he mentioned in the episode, his addictive personality made it easy to go all in and he really just changed one addiction for another. He chats about how even though the world of fitness and bodybuilding brought him a lot of positives, it also presented some negatives such as dealing with relationships.
We chat about the importance of having goals that truly work for and benefit your life. There are a lot of people who are chasing things that harm their marriage, negatively impact their mental health, or are doing something because it's cool or popular. Find something that challenges you and pushes you to become a BETTER version of yourself, not a reduced, one-dimensional version of yourself.
