Getting into the sport of bodybuilding from a podcaster and fan perspective led me to many athletes and many coaches. At first, it's hard to tell who the real competitive athlete's are and who the educated and experienced coaches are. As I mentioned in a previous post there are a lot of coaches out there and sometimes the good ones are hard to find, but when I found Marcus Seidel I realized he would be a great person to have on the podcast.
Coach Marcus Seidel joined The Weight Room for episode 184. We talked about his journey into bodybuilding and lessons he learned in the sport about the sport as well as about himself. Bodybuilding is very much an introspective experience and if you take the opportunity, you can learn a lot about your strengths and your weaknesses. We also talk about coaching, his experience as a coach and what it is like coaching bodybuilders, what makes a good bodybuilder, and what makes somebody a top level competitor.
Although bodybuilding can be a very positive experience, some people do get into it for the wrong reasons. Whether that is for attention, social media clout, sponsorship money, etc, these can be reasons people don't last long in the sport or even have negative health effects due to not doing it right.
Overall, Marcus Seidel and I have a great conversation on episode 184 of The Weight Room. and make sure to check out his Instagram page.
