Guest Daniel Yores joins The Weight Room for episode 71. I initially found him on Instagram and after checking out some of his content realized we had a lot in common. We both value positive thinking, training, diet, and thinking for ourselves. Even though he didn't have hundred of thousands of followers he influenced with his ideas, I decided he was an important person to have on the podcast to share what I believe are important pillars of life.
During our episode he shared how he got into the world of fitness, why he became a coach, what he values as a coach and what his key principles are. We also chat about philosophy and the role it plays in our lives. Some people choose to fill their minds with "garbage" and that's what they get out and some people choose to read and consume content that challenges their mind.
Another topic Daniel Yores values is training for life and helping people really understand the value of being physically capable. Simply being able to do a full range of motion squat is something he often talks about on his social media. The power of being able to use your body is understated when you're young because we all take it for granted and we see working out as just something to look good but as we continue to get older things change. If we don't take care of ourselves, we begin to lose that functionality and that is what Daniel Yores focus on with his clients whether that is not losing it or getting it back. He emphasizes making it a lifestyle based on sustainability.
