Rayne Gray was the first first responder on The Weight Room. I had found him on Instagram and saw he had a podcast of his own, listened to a few episodes and really enjoyed his content. He talked a lot with guests in the fire service about physical health, mental health, training, procedures, and more. The conversations he had inspired me to continue challenging myself to become a better podcast host.
When I reached out to him to come on The Weight Room, he accepted the invitation and followed up with a phone call to discuss our upcoming episode. I could tell from our first call that he had great intentions for his own industry and wanted to share the best aspects of the fire service as well as some things that could be better.
On our episode, he shared his background, how he got into the fire service, a CRAZY story about running into a burning building before he was even a fire fighter, and how that situation impacted him for the rest of his life. We also talked specifically about how diet and exercise can and should play a bigger role in the fire service. He is a huge proponent of being as professional as possible for the betterment of the service and the good of the community they serve.
