The world of bodybuilding is massive and getting bigger from all angles. We have a ton of new athletes, new companies offering products, new coaches, new exposure, but at the end of the day it is the same sport- bodybuilding. At the core, it is very basic even though social media can make it look very flashy.
On episode 135 of The Weight Room Jordan Adams shares his journey getting into fitness, what led him into bodybuilding, why and how he started his meal service business and what it looks like today. He talks about something many can relate to and that is lifting weights for a body composition change due to a relationship. There are so many reasons people get into fitness and often where it ends up is no longer related to that initial reason. We talk about getting started in business, grinding to get things going in the early days, the challenges of being a small business, and how he grew his business, Zilla Meals. Creating meals that are both replicable, tasty, and cost effective takes more than just knowing how to cook the food. And then adding on that delivery, customer relations, and satisfying so many different people's taste buds, it's crazy that it all works out!
Jordan Adams returned to The Weight Room, this time in studio, on episode 212. It was another fantastic conversation. We talked about general health and nutrition and how this country has basically completely turned its back on it. There are also so many people out there that have a negative view of healthy food because they perceive it as more expensive, too much effort, they see people who eat it as uppity, etc etc. He tells a story about people who were upset about his company coming out with healthy food options specific for kids. Meanwhile, these same people don't think twice about happy meals and ALL the other junk that is marketed towards kids. We also talk a bit about bodybuilding, how his season is going and what the future looks like for him in the sport. We had a great chat and it's always fun to talk to someone with similar views of health and fitness.
