Matthew Christman BS, NST, LMT, FRC on Neurosomatic Therapy and Recovery Modalities

Everyone in the world of fitness knows how important exercise and diet are to health and performance and achieving a goal. The two are huge pillars of health and fitness for great reason, they work. When done properly for your goal, diet and exercise are probably two of the top 3 or 4 most important variables you can control.

What some people fail to take into account is the therapy and recovery aspects. These two are similar but also serve slightly different purposes. Therapy such as massage therapy can certainly help with recovery, but they can also cause some strain on the body whereas just recovery could be considered things like sleeping, light stretching, light walking. Some therapy modalities can be quite extensive at times and even though they do directly benefit recovery and performance, they are not the same thing.

Matthew Christman, guest on episode 264 of The Weight Room, knows all about the recovery and therapy side of things. Specifically, we talk about neurosomatic therapy. He had a wide knowledge base about what neurosomatic therapy is, how it works, how this kind of therapy benefits performance, and how he has seen it work for the people he works with. Matthew Christman works within one of the country's most prestigious gyms, Mi40 and gets to interact with some amazing athletes. He is very educated on what he does and waa an excellent guest.
