There are some people who everybody knows and everybody talks highly of. Autumn Cleveland is one of those people, especially in the Louisville area fitness and bodybuilding community. From the first episodes I began doing with people in the Louisville bodybuilding community, I started to hear Autumn's name brought up. This person new her from this and this person knew her from posing, etc. By the time we recorded our episode with Hayley Franklin- our first episode in our new studio- I knew Autumn was someone we had to get in and talk to. We had reached out and knowing she had a ton of followers, we knew a lot of messages slip through the cracks, so we kept trying.
After a while, we finally got in touch with her and at that point she was in season and trying to qualify for the Olympia. And then, she did qualify for the Olympia and that pushed our recording back again until this year, 2023. When the time came around at the beginning of the new year and we sat down to have our conversation, there was a feeling of accomplishment. Knowing we had really only ever sat out to have one guest specifically on and it took time but finally happened, it felt like we had made progress within the community.
Autumn joined The Weight Room in studio after her Olympia experience which turned out to be really lucky for us as we got to discuss a monumental moment in her life and bodybuilding career. We had a really good chat about her reasons for getting into bodybuilding, why she started training, what it started to mean in her life, and how she realized she needed to keep putting more into it. Her life has been heavily influenced by the sport and the community. She has a very unique perspective about bodybuilding being an artist. We then talk about her experience turning pro, eventually qualifying for the Olympia and what her Olympia experience was like. The conversation certainly lived up to the hype I built up in my own head so make sure you go check it out anywhere you find podcasts!
