When it comes to lifting heavy weight, Brian Carroll has his fair share of experience. He is a record holder having been the first person to ever squat 1300 pounds. The amount of training, genetics, and time that something like that takes just goes to show his discipline and willingness to put in the work day in and day out.
Brian Carroll joined The Weight Room on episode 48 and shared with us his journey into the world of fitness and powerlifting, mistakes he's made. finding his place in the industry through education and now helping others so they don't make the same mistakes he did. We talked a lot about his struggles with injury which is no surprise when lifting hundreds and hundreds of pounds day after day. He talked about Dr. Stuart McGill and what his methods did for his body and his life. He worked closely with Dr. McGill and wrote a book with him called Gift of Injury. Brian Carroll also wrote a book called 1020 Life.
He is a huge proponent of building the body properly in order to lift heavy.
